We understand that there is a lot of anxiety and concern about potential flooding in and around Auckland due to the heavy rain.

We would like to reassure everyone that Rutherford is a safe place with no flooding hazards or issues around safety.

However we have made the decision to close early today (1.35pm) to allow students the opportunity to get home safely before further heavy rain occurs, as predicted by the weather forecasters. Students can wait in the hall for buses which will not arrive until after 1.35pm.

Please do not drive up the driveway if you are collecting your child, it is a hazard.

We apologise for the short notice and for any inconvenience.
