Principal’s Panui – 13 February 2023

Principal’s Panui – 13 February 2023

Auckland Emergency Management has issued a heavy rain and strong wind warning across Auckland from now until Tuesday with the worst of the weather expected later today and overnight.

Dear Parents and Caregivers

Under the circumstances and with the safety of our staff and students in mind, we have made the decision to remain closed today and tomorrow, Tuesday 14 February.

On Tuesday we will review the situation again and keep you all updated on when to expect the school to re-open. You can expect this communication before 3pm, Tuesday 14 Feb. Please keep an eye on your emails and phone for our alerts.

In the interim please keep safe by following the advice offered by AEM:

  • Make sure you have enough food and water and medicines for the next few days. Keep your phone charged and have a torch nearby.
  • Talk to your support people and service providers and have a plan in place if you need help. If you are worried, it is a good idea to go and stay with friends or family.
  • If you have to leave your home, you can stay at a nearby Civil Defence Centre. You can find your nearest centre here or phone them on 0800 22 22 00.
  • Call 111 if your life is at risk.
  • Prepare for power outages and be ready to evacuate if needed. You can check these links from Vector and Counties Energy.

Stay safe everyone.

We hope to see you all back at school soon.
