The extreme weather continues to cause disruption and devastation across the country and we were saddened to hear that the slips in Muriwai resulted in responders sustaining severe injury and potential loss of life. Many have been impacted with slips, power outages, loss of internet, flooding and road closures. We have not seen events such as these in Auckland on such a large scale before. Our thoughts go out to those who have or are suffering loss to homes and possessions or have been misplaced.
Rutherford College has undergone a thorough check of all interiors and exteriors and we are pleased to report that the damage is minimal. Our decision is to open for a normal school day tomorrow unless we hear otherwise from the AEM or Secretary for Education. This means school starts at 8.55am and will finish at 2.55pm. Buses will be running.

Our primary focus is on staff and student wellbeing at this time. If you have experienced severe damage that will prevent you attending school, we understand. You can report the absence through the school Portal. Remember that caregivers can use the magic link to gain access to the portal. Click on the link and a login code will be sent to your email account.
We encourage all students to attend school if they are able to do so. It is a good time to reestablish connections and routines and focus on something positive.
