Stellar Performances Highlight College Success at Auckland Secondary School Athletics Championships

The Auckland Secondary School Athletics Champs of Champs took place on Tuesday, March 26th, at Mt Smart Stadium. Our college proudly sent six outstanding students to represent us: Sharlise Barton, Timon Boyack, Lucy Day, Lorenzo Pearce, Amy Thomson, and Kate Wilcox.

Amy stood out with an impressive performance in the 2000m steeplechase, securing 1st place in the Intermediate division with a personal best time of 8:16. Additionally, she achieved a commendable 7th place in the intermediate category for the 3000m with a personal best time of 10:48, and despite fatigue, finished the 1500m race in 5:25.

Kate also made a notable achievement by reaching the finals of the Junior 200m race, securing 4th place in a tightly contested event.

Beyond track events, our college's contingent showed strength in various competitions. Sharlise competed in Junior girls shot put, securing 6th place. Timon, Lorenzo, and Lucy demonstrated their capabilities against tough competitors at the Auckland Champs.

The talent of our students is evident through their success. We take great pride in their participation and achievements at such a competitive level. We extend a big thank you to the parents for their support and invaluable assistance with transportation.
